If you’re heading to Disney World soon, and hoping to have fun as an adult, then you’re probably interested in learning all of the things to do at Disney World for adults. Well, thankfully, grown-ups can have a ton of fun at Disney World, so in this article, we’re going to discuss all of the various rides, live shows, and night life entertainment you’ll want to experience while on Disney property!

Things to Do at Disney World for Adults

Let’s begin with a fun “challenge” that you can do at your own pace.

Epcot – Eat/Drink Around the World Challenge

Epcot is already known for having an amazing variety of food and drinks to try out. That is one of the reasons Epcot is one of my favorite parks for adults. I mean, who doesn’t love to eat?

Epcot’s World Showcase features 11 different countries right now including: Mexico, Norway, China, Japan, Morocco, Italy, France, America, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Each of these pavilions features food, shopping, and attractions for visitors to explore. I love touring each country and browsing their shops, but my favorite thing to do, by far, is try out their cuisine.

For food lovers like myself, the Epcot Eat/Drink Around the World Challenge was born! Depending on your interests, you can choose to just eat around the world or just drink around the world, but I like to combine them to make sure I fit in something from every country!

If you enter World Showcase from the front of the park and begin your journey by making a left, you’ll start at Mexico. Here are my top choices for a classic Eat/Drink Around the World Challenge.

  1. Mexico: La Cantina de San Angel – Taco Trio
  2. Norway: Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe – School Bread
  3. China: Lotus Blossom Café – Pot Stickers (Stop by the Joy of Tea Cart for a drink)
  4. Germany: Sommerfest – Jumbo Pretzel and a Beer
  5. Italy: Via Napoli – Pizza!
  6. America: Funnel Cake Cart – Funnel Cake
  7. Japan: Kabuki Café – Futomaki Big Roll and Kakigori
  8. Morocco: Restaurant Marrakesh – Moroccan Symphony Baklavas
  9. France: Les Halle Boulangerie-Patisserie – Macaron
  10. United Kingdom: Yorkshire County Fish Shop – Fish & Chips (Try a beer at the UK Beer Cart)
  11. Canada: Refreshment Port – Signature Poutine

Obviously, there are so many options at each pavilion, so take your time and browse around! The fare in each pavilion is traditional and exceptional, you won’t be disappointed. Can you make it all the way around the world though?

Hollywood Studios Thrill Rides

If you are a thrill-seeker like me, Disney’s Hollywood Studios might be one of your favorite parks. Out of all of the Walt Disney World parks, this one definitely has the most thrill rides. The epic Rise of the Resistance ride, The Hollywood Tower of Terror, The Rockin’ Roller Coaster, and Star Tours are all of the current thrill rides you can find at Hollywood Studios. If you’re an adult, you will want to check these out!

Hall of Presidents

This performance can be found in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. When you enter Magic Kingdom, head to the left of Cinderella’s Castle into Liberty Square. The Hall of Presidents is an animatronic show telling the history of America’s presidents.

It is inspiring, moving, and filled with information about America’s history. This is a great place to stop if you’re in need of a break from the Florida heat. It can be easy to miss, but don’t skip this one!

Epcot DiveQuest

Epcot DiveQuest is a hard reservation to snag, but so worth it! You must be SCUBA certified to participate in this adventure, so keep that in mind before you call to book! Epcot’s DiveQuest is located at the Caribbean Coral Reef, Epcot’s 5.7-million-gallon tank. There are plenty of windows around the facility where family and friends can watch your diving experience.

Plan about three hours into your schedule for this event and get ready to go Under ‘da Sea! You’ll come face to face with a plethora of incredible marine creatures as well as beautiful coral displays. This is one of the most unique Disney experiences out there in my opinion, and definitely a must-do for those who love marine life!

Disney Springs at Night

A lot of families skip out on Disney Springs when taking a trip to Disney World, but it is a fantastic place to visit for the whole family, especially the adults. The night life at Disney Springs is incredibly lively. There are tons of amazing restaurants with awesome drinks to try.

There are also some great shopping opportunities, and more! Disney Springs is a great place to stop on a rest day between park days. It’s a great way to get out of the hotel room but still take it easier than on a park day, so make sure you spend an evening strolling along the streets of Disney Springs, you never know what you’ll find!

Romantic Fireworks View

If you’re planning a romantic date night with your other half, make sure you snag a reservation at  one of the top Disney World restaurants, California Grill. Located at the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the California Grill is a captivating culinary experience.

Check the My Disney Experience app to see what time the Magic Kingdom fireworks display will be happening that night. Then, book your reservation about 15-30 minutes before to eat with a view of those incredible fireworks. When you check in for your reservation, be sure to ask your cast member for a fireworks view.

If you dine earlier in the evening, hold on to your receipt. Bring it back during the fireworks display, and the staff will escort you to the firework viewing area. The romantic atmosphere at California Grill is perfect for a romantic celebration or simply an evening with your significant other. Kids are welcome here as well, so it’s a great option for the younger ones who might be a tad scared of fireworks.

Festival of the Lion King

No creature, human or animal could be unhappy at this show. The Festival of the Lion King is displayed every hour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This show features incredible singers, dancers, gymnasts, acrobats, and more. There is so much to appreciate in this performance, it is perfect for the adults visiting Disney.

The dancers are mesmerizing, the acrobats are astonishing, every little piece of this show is just incredible. This is a must-see for me and whoever I’m traveling with each time we visit Disney. You might need a FastPass for this show, so if it is at the top of your list, be sure to book one 60 days in advance if you are staying on Disney property and 30 days if you are staying off property.

Brunch at Raglan Road in Disney Springs

If you’re in Disney on a Sunday morning, you will definitely want to head over to Disney Springs for Raglan Road’s “The Rollicking Raglan Sunday Brunch.” Raglan Road is inspired by traditional Irish pubs, even using woodwork from churches and pubs in Ireland to create their bars.

Each night, the platform in the center of the room is used for traditional Irish dancing shows, but the brunch here is what we’re talking about! On Sundays, you can see dancers, music, and a traditional Irish breakfast from 11am-4pm. There are a few fun cocktails to choose from such as the Elderflower Cocktail, Mimosas, and the Irish Red Eye (Raglan Road’s take on a Bloody Mary).

There are many options for guests to choose from, but the Full Irish is the most popular item including: sausage, fried eggs, black and white puddings, Irish bacon, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, and breakfast potatoes.

This place is perfect for a fun brunch with your significant other, bridal party, or family! Get ready to visit Ireland by stepping into Raglan Road!

Spa Day

They might be a little harder to find, but many adults miss out on the incredible spas Disney has to offer! A spa day is the perfect way to break up your park days. Relax, recharge, and revitalize with facials, massages, and more! Here are a few of my favorite Disney spas.

LaVida Health Club at Coronado Springs offers Swedish massages, in-room massages, a beautiful citrus facial, manicures, pedicures, as well as hairdressing services. Ship Shape at Yacht and Beach Club Resorts also offers these same services.

The Mandara Spa at Disney’s Dolphin Resort is a tranquil Balinese-themed spa. They offer meditation and tea gardens, plenty of massages, aromatherapy, facials, body wraps, as well as nail and salon services.

Then there is Senses at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. This spa is incredible, serene, and Victorian-themed. They also have a long list of services to choose from including many types of massages, facials, and body treatments. They also have nail services and a variety of spa packages, perfect for creating a relaxing spa day!

Lounge by the Pool at Disney’s Grand Floridian

The Beach Pool at The Grand Floridian is one of the nicest, most serene pools on Disney property. This pool is surrounded by beautiful greenery, and tons of space for lounging. There is a zero-depth beach entry to the pool, making it a great place to sit in the water and relax on a hot day.

There is a fantastic little poolside bar with a selection of drinks as well as a few snack options. There are waterfalls, waterslides, walking bridges, and more! If the pool is on your Disney itinerary, consider staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!

If the Grand Floridian is not in your budget, don’t despair! Disney’s resorts are known for their incredible themed pools, most of which also have poolside bars. No matter which resort you choose, the pool will be a great spot to relax, cool off, and sip a fun drink!

Sleep on the Safari

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite resorts for adults. Book a room with a safari view to overlook Animal Kingdom’s incredible array of wildlife. Keep an eye out for zebras, giraffes, flamingos and more!

If you’re unable to snag a safari view, don’t worry! Book a tour on the Wanyama Safari. You’ll be taken on a private tour of the Safari and then hosted for a multi-course meal of African-inspired fare at Jiko – The Cooking Place. This experience books up fast, so be sure to snag it 180 days in advance! There are many amazing dining options in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so take time to explore and find a culinary adventure suited for your family!

This hotel also features a luxurious pool with massive waterslides, a spa, and much more! To learn more about booking a room at Animal Kingdom Lodge, click here!

Morning Yoga

Disney really does think of everything, and this is proof! Most Disney resorts offer an outdoor, morning yoga class at least once a week. I think this would be such a calming, yet fun way to start the day with your significant other. You can check which hotels host morning yoga by clicking on the “Recreation” tab of the resort’s website. Namaste!

In-Room Celebrations

Last, but certainly not least, enjoy Disney’s In-Room Celebrations! This is one of the best ways to truly commemorate a life event in a very personal way. Schedule an In-Room celebration to be set up while you’re away for the day. When you return to your room it will be waiting for you and your party!

Whether it’s a birthday, holiday, engagement, or honeymoon, this is the perfect way to celebrate. You can personalize a container filled with Disney Memorabilia for your special someone.

You can choose from a variety of themed celebrations including wine and roses for romantic occasions, royal princess celebrations for your princess, or even a fun pirate adventure! There are so many to choose from, and this is one of the signature touches that truly makes a Disney holiday magical!

Admittedly, this is perhaps not one of the most thrilling things to do at Disney World for adults, but I think this can still be a fun, magical experience that can brighten your day–and perhaps your entire vacation.
