Magic Kingdom is easily the most popular of all the parks at Walt Disney World. Between the crowds and the Florida heat and the excitement, you probably want easy choices for at least some of your meals. If you’re looking for a satisfying meal without having to make dining reservations, here are some suggestions for the best quick service at Magic Kingdom.

Best Quick Service For Breakfast

The best quick service locations for breakfast are:

  • Main Street Bakery
  • The Friars Nook
  • Sleepy Hollow

Let’s explore what it is about each one that makes them so special.

Main Street Bakery

The Main Street Bakery is one of the most popular spots for early morning refreshments. This spot opens at 8:30 AM, so they’ll be ready for all of you who get there at rope drop! The lines can be a bit long, especially at the very start of the day, but it does move pretty quickly. Unfortunately, mobile ordering isn’t available for Main Street Bakery.

The Main Street Bakery is actually a Starbucks. If you need to start your day with a Mocha Frappuccino, Caramel Macchiato, or the refreshing Pink Drink, you can find it all here! Of course, you can also get just a regular cup of coffee if you prefer. There is also a nice selection of tea drinks.

Several tasty breakfast sandwiches are available here, as well as some delicious pastries. The sandwiches include, among other choices, a decadent slow-roasted ham, Swiss cheese, and egg croissant, as well as a healthier, yet still delectable, Spinach, feta, and egg white breakfast wrap.

If something sweet is more your style, they have a wide assortment of pastries. I highly recommend the chocolate-hazelnut bear claw, though! You can’t have a bad day if you start your day with something chocolate! Be sure to check out their rotating selection of seasonal treats, too.

The Friars Nook

It’s easy to miss this walk-up spot in Fantasyland. If the line at Main Street Bakery seems too long, this is a good option for a quick breakfast. The Friar’s Nook has a limited breakfast menu, but the choices are knot bad.

They serve a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant with a side of tots which is a satisfying and affordable breakfast option. You can also order a side of sausage gravy to dip your tots in! For a sweet early morning snack, the cinnamon sugar doughnut holes are the perfect sweet little bites.

Friar’s Nook has milk, juice, and water for the little ones, as well as Joffrey’s coffee, hot cocoa, and Twinings tea for those who need a caffeine boost.

Sleepy Hollow

Located in the Liberty Square area of Magic Kingdom, Sleepy Hollow has a menu that might be described as “dessert disguised as breakfast”! This is the place to get Mickey-shaped waffles covered in powdered sugar, or with fresh strawberries and powdered sugar. If that isn’t enough sweet temptation for you, the fresh fruit waffle sandwich is an assortment of fresh fruit and hazelnut spread nestled in a warm, fresh waffle.

You can wash down all this sugary goodness with a hot cup of Joffrey’s coffee, Twinings tea, or choose from an assortment of soft drinks, and juices.

Let’s explore what it is about each one that makes them so special.

Casey’s Corner

Serving all beef hot dogs and decorated in a classic baseball motif, Casey’s Corner is a popular place with an almost cult-like following. Their menu includes regular hot dogs, along with a loaded Chicago-style dog and an incomparable chili-cheese dog.

There is even a tasty plant-based loaded slaw dog for those who prefer vegetarian options. If that wasn’t enough, there are those corn dog nuggets. These delicious little mini corn dogs are served with a side of fries, but you really need to include the cheese sauce for the complete taste experience.

There is some seating inside Casey’s, but this is one of the few times that I think it’s more fun to sit at one of their outdoor tables. It’s the perfect spot for people-watching, and several times throughout the day you can catch live music on their outdoor piano.

Columbia Harbour House

Columbia Harbour House is a quick service restaurant that almost feels like a table service place. There is ample seating inside this spot in Liberty Square, making it a nice respite from the crowds and intense Florida sun.

Seafood dominates the menu, with selections ranging from a healthy grilled salmon with rice and green beans, a plentiful New England shrimp boil, or a classic lobster roll. If you can’t decide, the Trio Platter, with fried shrimp, battered fish, and chicken strips served with hush puppies and your choice of a side is a great option. On those rare occasions that the weather feels chilly in Florida, a bowl of their New England clam chowder will warm you right up!

The menu here has a good number of allergy-friendly options, both on the adult and kids’ menus.

The Lunching Pad

The Lunching Pad, located in Tomorrowland, is another spot to get a hot dog. However, their menu features more unique dogs than what you’ll find at Casey’s Corner. In addition to a “regular” all-beef hot dog, you can get a bahn-mi dog topped with pickled vegetables, sriracha mayonnaise, and cilantro, or a southwestern flavored Quest Funded hot dog with queso fundido, street corn relish, and tortilla strips. The Cuban Hot Dog, much like a Cuban sandwich, is topped with ham, pickles, swiss cheese, and dijonnaise.

All of these innovative gourmet hot dogs come with a choice of one side and are priced at under $13.00, making this a great place for a fun meal at a great price.

If you just want a quick snack, The Lunching Pad also serves the popular Mickey Pretzels and churros.

Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn And Cafe

Over in Frontierland, Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn has a menu showcasing Southwestern flavors and juicy burgers.  The decor is meant to evoke an old west saloon; complete with wood tables and stone accents.

The menu includes burgers, salads, rice bowls, and a variety of tacos, nachos, and fajitas. A toppings bar lets you add as much cheese, lettuce, salsa, and other toppings to your tacos and nachos as you can handle! There are also options for a gluten-free bun for the burgers.

Leave some room for dessert. The churros nuggets with chocolate dipping sauce are incredible!

The spacious dining room and comfortable air conditioning make Pecos Bill’s a popular place and it tends to be very busy during usual meal times. However, you can use mobile food ordering to get your food fast!

Pinocchio Village Haus

In Fantasyland, Pinocchio Village Haus is the spot to go for tasty flatbread pizzas, chicken strips, and salads. Although the flatbread pizza flavors are somewhat predictable, the menu is a good choice if you have picky eaters in your family. Who doesn’t love pizza? There is even the option to have any of the flatbreads made with a gluten/wheat allergy-friendly crust.

This place has a large dining area, and the decor is absolutely charming. There are large colorful murals with scenes from the classic animated Pinocchio film throughout the dining area. There is also some outside seating, which is a prime spot for people-watching. Large umbrellas over the tables offer some relief from the Florida sun.

Best Quick Service For A Sweet Treat

The best quick service locations for those seeking a dessert or tasty sweet treat are:

  • Aloha Isle
  • Gaston’s Tavern
  • Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

Let’s explore what it is about each one that makes them so special.

Aloha Isle

Aloha Isle in Adventureland is the place to get the iconic, super-popular frozen treat: Dole Whip. This sweet/tart soft serve treat is available by itself, swirled with other soft serve flavors, or as a refreshing float with pineapple juice. This tropical treat is a fan favorite and tastes perfect on a hot, humid Summer day.

Dole Whip is not only delicious and refreshing, but it is also fat-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free!

If you’re not a fan of pineapple, there is also an orange-flavored Doc Whip available at Sunshine Tree Terrace.

Gaston’s Tavern

Tucked away in a corner of Fantasyland, Gaston’s Tavern is a “manly” place serving one of the most impressive sweet snacks in Magic Kingdom: their warm cinnamon roll. This is no ordinary cinnamon roll; it’s huge! One might say it’s “Gaston-sized”. I’d recommend that it’s big enough or two people to share, but to be honest, I’ve never seen anyone willing to share.

The cinnamon roll isn’t just impressive in size, it also is absolutely delicious. The dough is soft and slightly sweet, the cinnamon filling is perfectly balanced, and it’s all covered in a gooey vanilla glaze.

Another notable sweet offering at Gaston’s is LeFou’s Brew. This refreshing slushy drink  is described as “frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow and topped with all-natural passion fruit-mango foam”. It’s sweet (but not overly so), fruity, and delicious!

Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, located on Main Street, is a charming, nostalgic ice cream parlor. They serve hand-dipped ice cream cones and waffle bowl sundaes. Their flavor choices include a no sugar added raspberry sorbet, and plant-based desserts are also available.

The warm brownie sundae, covered in hot fudge, whipped cream, and two scoops of ice cream, is large enough for two people to share. Another specialty treat is the Main Street Float: a root beer float topped with whipped cream, crunchy caramel corn, and peanut butter candy pieces. It’s sure to satisfy any sweet tooth!
