Let’s begin with Connections Cafe, shall we?

Connections Cafe

Epcot has undergone a lot of upgrades and refurbishments over the past couple of years. Connections Cafe (and the adjoining Connections Eatery) recently opened in the Spring of 2022. This cafe is located in the World Celebration section of Epcot, a short distance from the Mission Space ride and the new Guardians of the Galaxy-Cosmic Rewind roller coaster.

Connections Cafe serves Starbucks coffee and has a modest menu of breakfast sandwiches and pastries. The prices are very reasonable, with all of the sandwiches priced at under $7.00.

If you’re in the mood for a savory breakfast sandwich, choices range from a fairly simple, but delicious, ham and cheese croissant to a decadent bacon, gouda, and egg sandwich. A slightly healthier option is the spinach, feta, and cage-free egg white breakfast wrap.

The pastry selection includes most items you’d typically find in Starbucks, but there are also Disney treats like the sugar cookie with EARiridescent Sprinkles. One standout sweet option is the Liege Waffle. This popular sweet treat is made of a batter similar to brioche dough and is covered with pearl and powdered sugars.

Connections Cafes serves the classic Starbucks coffees and Frappuccino drinks, assorted teas, as well as seasonal drinks.

There’s plenty of seating inside the cafe if you prefer to sit and savor your breakfast while you plan your day at Epcot. An especially nice feature is that there are power outlets at or near most of the seating, so you can charge your phone if needed.

Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie

Located in the World Showcase section of Epcot, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie is one of the most popular destinations for a delicious breakfast or brunch. It’s situated near the gift shop at the back of the France Pavillion. While most of the restaurants and attractions in the World Showcase section of Epcot don’t open until 11 AM, Les Halles opens at 9 AM. Enjoying a quiet breakfast in the early morning before World Showcase gets overly crowded is a wonderful way to start your day.

Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie doesn’t have a designated children’s menu, but it’s not uncommon to see families with young children enjoying meals at this spot.  Hot chocolate, orange juice, and milk can be enjoyed by the kids as the adults choose from their coffee and tea selections. You can even order a refreshing mimosa to have with your breakfast!

Just like a customary French patisserie, the food is prepared fresh each morning and is on display in glass cases. This is nice for children who might not recognize the food descriptions, but they can see what food they might like to try. Savory selections like a personal-sized quiche Lorraine, or a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich are examples of popular breakfast choices.

Don’t pass up the pastries while dining here! The croissants are incredibly buttery and light. Take the time to appreciate the simple beauty of the pastry selections. They are pretty enough to be considered sugary works of art in their own right.

This is another reasonably priced choice for breakfast, with menu items priced at under $14.00. There’s enough seating that you shouldn’t have trouble finding a table in the early morning. This restaurant does get quite busy in the middle of the day, though.

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe

Located in the Norway section of the World Showcase section of Epcot, Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe is another quick service restaurant that opens at 9 AM. This is a very popular spot for coffee and pastries in the morning, so be aware that it can be a little crowded early in the day.

Kringla Bakeri is located near the Frozen Ever After ride. Enjoy your coffee and a pastry early in the morning, then you can be one of the first in line when this very popular ride opens up.

Joffrey’s coffee is served here, along with specialty drinks such as the chocolatey  Kristoff Kaffe. Or if you’d like to indulge in a morning coffee cocktail, the Viking Coffee is deliciously spiked with Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur and Kamora Coffee Liqueur.

It’s the sweet pastries that make this a favorite place for so many visitors to Epcot. The School Bread, a soft sweet roll filled with custard and covered in toasted coconut, is a well-known favorite. Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls can be found here as well.

There aren’t any savory breakfast offerings at Kringla Bakeri, but if you are the type who prefers coffee and a light sweet treat in the morning you won’t go wrong here! Prices are quite reasonable, with everything on the menu being under $14.99.

Boardwalk Area Breakfast Restaurants

If you and your family like to have a nice sit-down breakfast, you might want to try these restaurants in the Boardwalk area.

Trattoria Al Forno

This Italian restaurant serves traditional breakfast fare, along with Italian-inspired meals such as a breakfast pizza, and a Caprese omelet made with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil.  There are also lighter menu choices, such as an egg white omelet made with herbs and goat cheese. Trattoria Al Forno is a nice choice for families, as they do have a children’s menu. The iconic Mickey-shaped waffles are available as a side, or as part of a child’s entree.

This restaurant is a little pricier than the quick service breakfast spots inside Epcot. Menu items range from $15 to $34.99, and reservations are highly recommended. Before the parks shut down during the pandemic, Trattoria Al Forno featured a character breakfast with Disney princesses.

While it has reopened for breakfast service, it’s not a character experience at this time. Disney has slowly been reopening their character experiences throughout the parks and restaurants, so there is a chance this could resume at some point in the near future.

Cape May Cafe

The Cape May Cafe is located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, just outside the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. In fact, the Beach Club Resort is the closest resort to Epcot; just a few minutes’ walk away.

This is a breakfast buffet, with omelet and carving stations, eggs, bacon and sausage, those adorable and tasty Mickey Mouse waffles, and more. There is a buffet section featuring “kid favorites” selections that sits a little lower so children can see and reach the food easier.

Cape May Cafe had temporarily suspended its character meals, but Disney recently announced that character dining will return this year. “Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast” resumes on October 4, 2022! Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters, wearing their best beach attire, will be meeting and greeting guests while they enjoy breakfast.

The price for Cape May’s breakfast buffet is $25 per adult and $14 per child. This is a good value for a buffet at Walt Disney World, especially once the character experience resumes. Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and reservations are required.

Breakfast Options We Hope Return Soon

Walt Disney World is still reopening many restaurants throughout the parks since they shut down during the pandemic. Some restaurants in Epcot that used to serve breakfast, such as Sunshine Seasons and Garden Grill, are now only open for lunch and dinner. Both of these restaurants are near the “Living With The Land” attraction and are unique in that some of the menu items are made with vegetables grown right there in Epcot.

Garden Grill is a fun buffet restaurant that rotates, giving guests views of several scenes from the “Living With The Land” ride.

Sunshine Season’s menu takes pride in serving fresh and flavorful food, featuring many ingredients grown in the Epcot greenhouses. Sunshine Seasons also has an extensive allergy-friendly section on its menu. Hopefully, the breakfast menu at both of these places will return soon.

Dining Tips For Breakfast At Epcot

It can be a little bit challenging to find a good breakfast at Epcot, but hopefully these suggestions will appeal to you. It’s important to note that table service restaurants, such as Cape May and Trattoria Al Forno, will require reservations. It can be easier to get reservations for the earliest time slots available. If you decide to eat an early breakfast at one of the Boardwalk area restaurants, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy your meal and walk over to Epcot just as they’re opening for the day.

If you’re staying at one of the Walt Disney World resorts, you can make dining reservations 60 days in advance using the My Disney Experience  app or through the Walt Disney World website. Most table service restaurants at Walt Disney World will try to accommodate guests with special dietary needs, such as food allergies. You can preview menus for all restaurants on the Walt Disney World website.
