You will definitely want to book FastPasses for many of the rides in Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom, especially if there are new rides at Disney World!
FastPasses are Disney World’s free service for booking “line-cutting” reservations. After you book a trip to Walt Disney World, you will have three FastPasses reserved for every member of your party for each day of your vacation.
If you are staying in a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you will be able to book your FastPass selections at 7:00 am EST 60 days before your vacation begins. If you have chosen to stay at another hotel in the Orlando area, your FastPasses can be booked at 7:00 am EST 30 days in advance of your vacation.
You are going to want to book all of your FastPasses in advance and be careful about when and where you book them. You can only book FastPasses in advance for one park each day.
So, if you’ve booked a FastPass reservation for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom on the Monday of your visit, you can only book other rides at Magic Kingdom on that same Monday. After you’ve used up your three advanced FastPasses for the day, you can then book one at a time as many times as you can before the park closes.
You can book FastPasses from both the Disney website as well as your My Disney Experience app on your phone. If you need to book more FastPasses while in the park, you can book them from your My Disney Experience app or at one of the many FastPass kiosks throughout the parks!
Be sure to familiarize yourself with the My Disney Experience app before heading to the parks to make your vacation much more efficient and take the searching for FastPass kiosks out of your schedule! Make the most of your trip using these incredible free FastPass reservations from Disney!
By booking your FastPasses in the morning, you are more likely to be able to book more FastPass reservations later in the day while enjoying your time at Disney World. To help you choose your FastPass reservations, I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 rides you will want to book FastPasses for at Magic Kingdom.
There are a lot of great rides here, and a lot of them have long waits. When deciding where to use your FastPass reservations and where to plan to wait in line, use this guide to help you out so you never book a FastPass for a ride that may only have a 20-minute wait.
- Editor’s Note: Disney has begun the removal of their popular FastPass system. You can learn more about how to use the replacement for FastPass, which is Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lanes.

Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain is a must for a FastPass but only in the Spring and Summer months. As it gets colder, this ride sees less and less visitors as guests don’t want to get wet.

Haunted Mansion
Haunted Mansion is an absolutely incredible ride with a cult-following for its ingenuity and uniqueness. Guests can be any height to ride, which is perfect for smaller ones. While this ride is a “haunted” mansion, it is not very scary. There are no “pop-outs” at all.
