In my humble opinion, some of the best scooter rentals for Disney are ScooterBug, Select Mobility, Apple Scooter, and of course Disney’s own in-house rental options.  But these choices are just the tip of the iceberg.  So let’s dive deep into all of the great scooter rental choices that are available at Disney or near Disney (in the surrounding area).

Discover the Best Scooter Rentals for Disneyland!

Let’s first begin by discussing the scooter rental options for those going to Disneyland.

Disneyland

In-House Rentals

The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California offers a variety of mobility aids available for rent that guests can use in Downtown Disney as well as both theme parks. These options are fairly reasonably priced, with a manual wheelchair being available for rent for $15 per day and an ECV (Electronic Conveyance Vehicle) available for rent at $60 per day.

Both of these rentals require a $20 deposit, however you will receive this money back upon returning the item at the end of the day in the same condition that you received the rental in. Wheelchairs and ECVs may not leave Disneyland property at the end of the day, and must be turned in upon park closing.

According to the Disneyland Website, guests must be 18 years of age to operate ECVs and a photo ID is required to rent these items. The maximum weight for an ECV is 450 pounds and the maximum weight for a manual wheelchair is 350 pounds. For safety purposes, only one guest at a time is allowed to ride in any of the rentals, and users are asked to only seat themselves in the designated seats of the conveyance vehicles.

In the event of a ride evacuation or emergency, guests are asked to receive assistance in evacuation from a member of their party, or wait in the ride vehicles for further cast member assistance.

Please note, ECVs and manual wheelchairs are only available for rent on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be reserved in advance of your trip. If you are concerned about guaranteeing that a rental is available to you, I would highly recommend arriving to the parks absolutely no later than 7AM on every morning of your trip to ensure you are near the front of the line when they open.

Off Property Rentals in Anaheim

ScooterBug

ScooterBug is a great, low cost option for electric conveyance vehicles, as well as manual wheelchair rentals in and around the Disneyland Anaheim resort area! The options for electronic conveyance vehicles in Anaheim are far more limited than they are in Orlando, however ScooterBug does still offer amenities that users cannot receive directly from the parks.

Rental rates start at $50 per day for an ECV while a adult manual wheelchair rental begins at $22.50 per day! Users also have the option of adding amenities such as a cane holder, cup holder or extra rear basket, although these do come with an additional cost upon booking.

Select Mobility

Select Mobility is another company local to Anaheim that offers scooter rentals within a 10 mile radius of Disneyland! The pricing range for this company is fairly similar to many of the others on this list with prices starting at $50 per day, but what sets Select Mobility apart from the rest is their awesome free delivery and pick up program!

They will deliver for free to your hotel or Airbnb as long as it’s within a 10 mile radius of the parks, and they will even deliver it to your hotel before you arrive, leaving your scooter with the concierge until you are ready to check in!

Soaring Scooters

Soaring Scooters is another great option for Electronic Conveyance Vehicle rentals In the Disneyland Anaheim resort areas! Pricing for the easily disassembled portable scooters begin at $45 per day, and the one thing I love about this company is the military and annual passholder discounts!

This is the only company in the area that openly advertises these discounts, putting them ahead of the crowd for people who fit into those communities!

One Stop Mobility

I’ll fully admit that One Stop Mobility is on the pricier side of scooter rentals in Anaheim, however I personally have used this company on many occasions because of their wider range of rentable mobility assistance devices! One Stop Mobility has a wide range of electric scooters, wheelchairs, knee walkers, rolling walkers and even walking aids that you can look through, and find an assistive device that truly fits your needs far more than one size fits all approach.

Electric Conveyance Vehicle rentals begin at $59 per day, with daily rates dropping in price the longer you rent them. As many of the companies on this list, One Stop Mobility also offers free delivery and pick up from your hotel or Airbnb!

Apple Scooter

While the website for Apple Scooter is a little bit more difficult to manage and navigate, there is a huge variety of choices for both theme park locations! Electronic Conveyance Vehicle prices start at $40 per day, while manual wheelchair rentals begin at $30 per day.

Like many of the other locations and companies on this list, they offer free delivery to any Anaheim resort or other location such as Airbnb (as long as it’s within a 5 mile radius of Disneyland), which makes this a great option for travelers planning on doing more than just visiting the theme parks!

Disney World

Let’s now transition to discussing scooter rental options for those heading to Disney World.

In-House Rentals

The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida offers Electronic Conveyance Vehicles just like Disneyland, although in Orlando these ECVs rent at $50 per day. There are also Wheelchairs available for rent for either $12 per day or $10 per day if you reserve your full length of stay at one time.

These ECV rentals will also require a $20 deposit, however you will receive this money back upon returning the item at the end of the day in the same condition that you received the rental in. ECVs may not leave Disney property at the end of the day, and must be turned in upon park closing. Daily rentals are transferable between all locations!

According to the Disney World Website, guests must be 18 years of age to operate ECVs and a photo ID is required to rent these items. The maximum weight for an ECV is 450 pounds and 350 pounds for a manual wheelchair. For safety purposes, only one guest at a time is allowed to ride in any of the rentals, and users are asked to only seat themselves in the designated seats of the conveyance vehicles.

The website also states that “Wheelchairs may not be removed from the destination where they were rented. When exiting your location, simply return your wheelchair to the rental counter. If you’re at a Disney water park or Disney Springs, your deposit will be returned at this time. When you visit your next destination, present your rental receipt to secure another wheelchair, if available.”

Off Property Rentals in Orlando

ScooterBug

ScooterBug is a great, low cost option for electric conveyance vehicle as well as manual wheelchair rentals in and around the Walt Disney World resort areas! There’s tons of different mobility assistance device options and additional features, making this a great choice if you find yourself looking for something specific, such as a scooter that can disassemble to travel in vehicles!

Gold Mobility Scooters

The website for Gold Mobility Scooters is a great choice if you’re looking for a more in-depth range of options to fit your needs! There are plenty of choices of scooter and wheelchair listed through this company, and every item rental comes with a free damage waiver, which is huge if you’re a bad driver like myself! Electronic Conveyance Vehicle rental prices begin at $299 for an up to seven day rental, so it’s a bit more towards the expensive side, but the range of options makes it worth it in my opinion!

K&M Rentals

If you have a very specific accessory need, K&M Rentals is definitely the best company for you to use for your vacation! These Electronic Conveyance Vehicle and manual wheelchair rentals can be customized with loads of different devices, including USB chargers, crutch holders, scooter canopies, oxygen holders and many many more!

A three day rental for a transportable travel scooter begins at $75, with add-ons and customizations adding more to that total. This is an awesome choice if you have a shorter vacation, and this is the only company that I have found that offers an oxygen holder for their rentals!

Apple Scooter

While this website is a little bit more difficult to manage and navigate, there is a huge variety of choices and rental lengths! Electronic Conveyance Vehicle prices start at $40 per day, while manual wheelchair rentals begin at $22.50 per day. Like many of the other locations and companies on this list, they offer free delivery to any Anaheim resort or other location such as Airbnb (as long as it’s within a 15 mile radius of Walt Disney World), which makes this a great option for travelers planning on doing more than just visiting the parks!

Scooter Vacations

This company is your standard, cookie cutter Electronic Conveyance Vehicle rental company, but they are certainly one of the most reliable! Their lowest price here begins at $25 per rental day, making them the cheapest scooter rental on the Orlando portion of this list! Rental periods of three days or more receive free delivery within 10 miles of the theme parks, while delivery fees for less than three days can build up to nearly $75.

If you’re planning a vacation with a length between three and seven days, I would recommend this company over many of the others on this list because of the amazing price for these rentals!

Other Important Information

One of the best parts about a Disney vacation is that you are free to bring your own mobility device if you are able to, and personal devices are not charged park entry fees or rental fees! I personally travel with my Fold-N-Go electric wheelchair, and nearly every airline in the United States will transport these free of cost which makes this the most economical option if it’s feasible for you and your family!

In my experience, scooters are not a one size fits all experience, so make sure to do your research and find what will work for you before making a decision on what rental service to use! The last thing you want is to receive a scooter that will not work for you and be miserable for the duration of your trip, speaking from experience.
