In this article, we’re going to discuss the Disney resort hotels that you can stay in that are located around the World Wide of Sports resort area.  Let’s get right to it.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort: Come get immersed in the animation of Disney’s feature films.  This is the absolute perfect resort for anyone that loves Pixar movies like “Up” or “Toy Story,” or fell in love with 2D animation as a kid, like “Cinderella” or “Beauty and the Beast.”

In fact, the lobby of this resort hotel offers guests a glimpse into the creative minds of those that animate all of those amazing movies.  On the walls of the lobby sit dozens and dozens of character sketches, which give you a brief but helpful look into how much work goes into bringing your favorite characters to life.

This is a very family friendly resort, so everywhere you go you will notice statues of characters like Timon, Pumbaa, Ariel and Sebastian.

What’s particularly nice about this resort, too, is that guests get to pick what kind of room (and as a result, what kind of movie) they want to be immersed in.  For example, this hotel offers family suites that are based around certain movies.  These suites, which sleep up to six adults, can be centered around movies like “Cars” or “The Lion King” or “Finding Nemo.”  Once inside, you’ll notice colorful wall decorations and even furniture styled in the spirit of each film.

And for those that want to spend less money (and sleep up to four adults instead of six), you can opt to go with The Little Mermaid Standard Room, which will be smaller than the family suites.

As for dining, guests can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Landscape of Flavors, which is sort of like one very big (and colorful) cafeteria.  You can get more information on the Art of Animation Resort here.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort: Anything cool that happened in pop culture from the 1950s through the 1990s is reflected at this resort.  Everywhere you go, you’ll notice not only Disney movies that made an impact in pop culture, but really everything and anything that made an indelible impression.  From quotes that adorn the buildings that say “Peace Man” or “Can You Dig It?” to a life-size foosball table that features 12-foot statues, you’ll really have a lot to talk about with your family as you walk down the history of pop culture one decade at a time.

Disney’s Pop Century provides guests with Standard and Preferred Rooms.  The main difference between a standard and preferred room is this: The preferred rooms are stationed closer to the main pool and dining hall.  So if you have an aversion to walking a greater distance to jump in the pool or grab a quick bite to eat at one of the seven counter service spots located at Everything POP Shopping and Dining, you might be more apt to shell out a few more dollars for the preferred room.  You can find all kinds of great information on the Pop Century Resort here.
