Why Hollywood Studios is the Best Disney Park for Adults

If you’re adult, the question is this (especially if you plan to travel without children): Is this the right theme park for you to spend your time and hard earned money in?  Well, in this article, I’m going to contend that the Hollywood Studios just might be the best adult-friendly theme park in all of Disney World.

Attractions

Hollywood Studios is home to some of the most popular thrill rides in the Disney Parks, like the Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Adults who enjoy the thrill of high speeds and big drops will absolutely love these two attractions. And, they are definitely two of the most popular attractions for adults at Disney World for thrill seekers. If you want to go on these attractions, be sure to make Fastpass+ reservations in advance if you can or plan to go on them earlier in the day. Both of these attractions can have high wait times very quickly due to their popularity.

If thrill rides aren’t your speed, there are plenty of attractions in the park for adults to enjoy with a slower pace. The Great Movie Ride (sadly, another ride that has closed and will be replaced) was perfect for those who love classic movies and wanted to learn a bit more about old Hollywood.

Or, if you like 3D shows, check out Muppet Vision 3D. It’s one of the oldest attractions in the park and is perfect for those who want to experience a bit of the park’s history and nostalgia. For those who like shows, don’t miss out on the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. It’s a neat way to see how movies stunts are made and a lot of fun.

New changes are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios too. Starting in 2019, Star Wars Land will be opening and will feature include new rides at Disney World. We love Sci-Fi Dine-In’s unique theme for a fun date night meal or a relaxed adults-only dinner. So, drive on into the Sci-Fi Dine-In for one out-of-this-world meal.

Mama Melrose: You’ll be saying, “That’s amore!” when you have lunch or dinner at Mama Melrose. This table service restaurant serves classic New York City style Italian food complete with pizza, pasta, and cannolis. This charming restaurant is a great spot for lunch or a cozy dinner. Ask for a booth in the back of the restaurant for a meal that’s a bit more quiet.

50s Prime Time Cafe: Go back in time to the 1950s when you eat at 50s Prime Time Cafe. This is a good spot for a quick bite to eat. At dinner, the restaurant serves fast casual fare like steak and fries or even salmon that’s more like table service without the prices.

When it comes to entertainment, Hollywood Studios is full of it. From lively cast members performing on the streets of the park to shows and impressive fireworks displays, there’s a lot for adults to enjoy. Hollywood Studios is the perfect park to explore and not feel rushed during your visit. Here are some of our must-do entertainment in the park.

Citizens of Hollywood: We absolutely love the “streetmosphere” found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Citizens of Hollywood are an improv acting troupe that you’ll find roaming the streets of Hollywood Studios throughout the day. They’re not listed on any times guide, so make sure that you keep an eye out for them. They’re an attraction all to themselves and a not to be missed experience unique to Hollywood Studios.

Star Wars Launch Bay: Until the new Star Wars Land opens, guests who visit Hollywood Studios and love Star Wars will want to make sure they get to the Star Wars Launch Bay. Here you can watch a short film about the making of the latest Star Wars films, check out props from the movies, and even meet your favorite Star Wars characters like Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, and BB-8. There’s also an impressive gift shop with Star Wars collectibles too.

Fantasmic: This nightly show and fireworks is a must-do for anyone visiting Hollywood Studios. You’ll see the forces of good and evil battling it out in Mickey Mouse’s dream. And, it’s the perfect show for nostalgia for adults who grew up loving Disney animated classic.
