So, if you’re traveling with a very young child, it’s likely a wise idea to get a stroller.  And if you don’t want to buy one, then renting might be your best choice.

But, who provides the best stroller rentals at Disney World?  Well, in this article, we are going to break down the most popular stroller renting options and give you everything you need to know to have a excellent experience for transporting your children around Disney.

Now overall, most companies have the same basic inventory of strollers available.  The most common units available are:

What Is Preferred Vendor Status?

It’s important to know that all  stroller rental companies are not necessarily equal.  And that’s because The Walt Disney World Resort has provided Preferred Vendor Status to three stroller rental companies and four mobility scooter companies (some of these also rent strollers), so pay attention when renting.

Preferred Vendor Status means that those selected companies can drop off at the Disney Resorts without having to meet with the guest.  So if you are running late or your plane is delayed, your unit will be waiting for you in the lobby when you arrive.  For companies that do not have Preferred Vendor Status, you will have to set up a time to meet directly with their drivers so you can receive the unit, which can cause issues if you are running late.

Throughout this article, I’ll make sure to inform you which of the stroller rental companies are Preferred Disney Vendors, and which ones are not.

Okay, without further ado, let’s jump into the 8 places you can go to rent strollers for your upcoming Disney World trip. And let’s begin with probably the most obvious place, which is renting a Disney World stroller from Disney World itself.

Renting Strollers at Disney World

Stroller rental at Disney World is available at the entrance of any of the Walt Disney World theme parks.  The single strollers accommodate children up to 50lbs and the double stroller accommodates up to 100lbs of weight.

What Strollers Are Available and What is the Cost?: Renting at the parks has two separate options.  They have single strollers available for $15 a day, but you can also prepay for multiple days for $13 a day. Also, if you do rent a multiple day stay, make sure to keep your receipt in a safe place because you will have to present it at each theme park you enter in order to receive your unit. Double Strollers are $31 a day and $27 if you prepay for multiple days.

INSURANCE: You do not have to purchase insurance. It is not even an option.

PROS: If your stroller is lost or stolen within the parks and you need a replacement, do not worry! Make sure you save your receipt because you can retrieve a replacement from the stroller rentals.  Also, you are not responsible for having to lug your stroller to and from your resort every day. Having it prepaid also alleviates the worry about having to wait in line to pay for a stroller daily. The double strollers can hold children up to 100 lbs which provides an option for older children who cannot withstand the miles of walking each day.

What to Expect: They are bench style plastic seats with a lap belt.  There is no cushion so the comfort level is limited.  The seat does not recline as well so it is difficult for little one to take a quick nap in the park.  There are only single strollers available at Disney Springs and there is a $100 credit card deposit to retrieve one of the units. These units are not an option for newborns and babies.

Magic Strollers

Magic Strollers are one of the three preferred Disney vendors. These units are delivered directly to the front of the resort at Bell Services

What Strollers Are Available and What is the Cost? Magic Strollers carries the City Mini Single and Double Stroller, the City Mini GT Single and Double Stroller and the Summit X3 Single and Double Stroller ranging in pricing from $41-46 for the first day and anywhere from $2-15 for each additional day for single strollers and $51-66 for the day and $2-15 for each additional day.

INSURANCE: Insurance is not required BUT I highly recommend it.  It covers theft and damage. It is a one time fee of $25. If you do not purchase the insurance you will be fully responsible for the unit if it is stolen and damaged.

PROS:  All of their strollers are suitable for infants. Rain covers are free by request. Parent consoles are included. The units can be delivered to bell services without you present. All of the seats recline. The strollers are deep cleaned with Ecolab products, and the strollers are easy to fold while being inexpensive.

CONS: Insurance is not provided and if you do experience theft or damage without insurance it can be rather expensive.  The pricing system can also be a tad confusing so I recommend going on the website and plugging in your dates personally so you know what you are getting.

Kingdom Strollers

Kingdom Strollers are one of the three preferred Disney vendors.

Available are the City Mini GT Single and Double, Bob Revolution Single and Dualie, Baby Trend Snap and Go, Joovy Caboose Sit and Stand, and Special Tomato EIO Stroller.  Single strollers run from $25-40 and each additional day is $5.  Double strollers run $35-45 and each additional day is $5.

INSURANCE: Insurance is $25 for the duration of the rental.  It is optional, but we know the drill now.  It is always recommended.

PROS: Simple Stroller has different options.  They also have baby carriers available! Parent consoles come with the units. They also have a Snap and Go which is a rare find in the rental world but effective if you’re coming with just an infant car seat for your small child.  The parent consoles are included and they have options for older children.

CONS: They are not a preferred vendor, so you need to set up a time to meet with their driver at the Disney Resort you are staying at.  Once again, there is a $20 insurance which does protect the unit, otherwise you are liable.

Buena Vista Stroller Rentals

Magic Strollers are one of the three preferred Disney vendors.

W What Strollers Are Available and What is the Cost?? Buena Vista Scooters and Strollers carry the City Mini Jogger Single and Double Scooter and the Bob Revolution Single and Double Stroller.  The single strollers run from $40-70  for 1-3 days.  Each additional group of 3 days is an additional $20.  The double strollers are $50-90 and each additional group of three days is $20.

INSURANCE: There is a $20 damage waiver fee.  It acts just like insurance although theft not is not included in the damage waiver. It is not mandatory but again strongly recommended.

PROS: Buena Vista also provides ECV rentals so you can bundle your whole family’s mobility needs.  A rain cover is provided for no additional costs and it comes with a parent’s console. They can deliver the units to bell services without you present as well.

CONS: Insurance is an additional cost. Bob Revolution strollers are more expensive than other vendors. Damage Waiver does not cover theft.

Apple Strollers

Magic Strollers are one of the three preferred Disney vendors.

What Strollers Are Available and What is the Cost? Apple Scooters and Strollers carry the City Mini Jogger Single and Double units. The pricing here is a little difference.  The strollers are technically free for each day you use the unit, but there is a mandatory $10 (single stroller) and $15 (double stroller) insurance fee for each day you have the stroller. Keep in mind there is a minimum three days you need to rent the equipment for. There is also a $5 delivery and a $5 pick up charge.  So the units are essentially $10 a day with an additional $10 delivery fee.

INSURANCE: The only charge for the stroller per day is the $10 and $15 insurance fee depending on which unit you select.

PROS: Apple Strollers is also a preferred Disney vendor.  This means that they can drop off and pick up at the Disney Resorts without you being there.  You can also bundle a mobility scooter if you do have mobility needs. The parents console is included and the units are laundered in between each use.

CONS: There is only one type of stroller they provide and they do charge a delivery fee! There is also a minimum 3 day rental for the strollers which is an inconvenience if you are just doing a quick weekend trip to Disney World.

A few tips for Disney with toddlers—make sure you read the review of the companies.  Each child and family have different needs.  The reviews for each company from verified guests will give you the best educated decision for the comfort of your child and yourself! Remember, while your child is relaxing with ease, you are still doing all the pushing, so always keep your needs in mind too.

Most importantly, soak it all in.  There is nothing more magical than the look of Disney through a child’s eyes!
