17 Best Magic Kingdom Characters (For Meet and Greets)

Here Are the Best Magic Kingdom Characters That You Can Meet and Greet at Disney.

If you’re anything like me, you probably love meeting characters on your Walt Disney World vacation! In fact, it’s entirely possible that you go to Disney World specifically to meet various characters that you haven’t met before.  So if you’re dying to meet and greet the amazing Magic Kingdom characters at Disney, here’s everything you need to know about who you can meet and where you can find them.

Magic Kingdom Characters (Meet and Greet Locations)

Jasmine, Aladdin, Ariel, Merida, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Belle, Snow White, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, Captain Jack Sparrow, Peter Pan, and Stitch are the top Magic Kingdom characters!

Jasmine and Aladdin

Aladdin is a Magic Kingdom Character you can meet and greet!

Unlike in Disney World’s California based counterpart, Disneyland, Aladdin is one of the most rare characters that you can meet in the Magic Kingdom, and as of right now he is only available for personal meet and greets alongside Jasmine! The two of them can be found behind the Agrabah Bazaar in Adventureland, but it’s important to note that because this meet and greet is so rare, it is extremely popular and the lines are cut off very quickly after they are opened.

You’ll want to check your My Disney Experience app for the scheduled meet and greet times, and make sure you are in the area at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to ensure you don’t miss the line!! This particular couple is a super fun meet and greet and I highly recommend this experience if you are a fan of either the animated or live action film!

Ariel

Everyone’s favorite little mermaid, Ariel, is certainly the first character that pops into my mind when I think of a Magic Kingdom meet and greet! It’s definitely a classic experience and an absolute must do if you or your children are fans of the film! If you and your party would like to meet Ariel, head on over to Ariel‘s Grotto in Fantasyland, typically any time between the late morning and into the early evening!

This meet and greet has a lightning Lane, so if you are interested in skipping some of the lines, you’ll want to make sure to check out Genie+ when you purchase your park tickets! Ariel’s meet and greet area was closed for quite a while and reopened fairly recently, so it will definitely be popular and lines could be quite long throughout the day!

Merida

Alongside several other meet and greets that we have included on this list, Merida is an extremely popular character and her meet and greet lines can be very long as you get later into the day! Merida only meets guests in the Fairy Tale Garden located in Fantasyland, however she is there for most of the day so you’ll have plenty of time to make your way over and meet her!

If you’re not a fan of waiting in long lines (upwards of 40+ minutes), you will definitely want to make sure that you make your way over to Merida’s meet and greet fairly early in the morning, she becomes very busy the later on in the day she goes. Typically Merida is available for meet and greets from late morning to early evening, with the most popular time to meet her being early afternoon!

Cinderella

As one of the most popular Disney characters in the company’s entire history, Cinderella is available for a standard meet and greet in the Princess Fairytale Hall within Magic Kingdom! The line for this meet and greet is typically VERY long, so you’ll want to check the MDE app as soon as you arrive to the park.

I would personally recommend arriving to the meet and greet at a minimum of 20 minutes prior to opening so that you can avoid as much of the afternoon lines as possible!

It is important to note that at the time this article was written, this is the only location outside of character dining in the entirety of Walt Disney World in which you can meet Cinderella!

Rapunzel

Rapunzel is such a fun character to meet within the Disney parks, and her character interaction within Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is certainly no exception to that! Rapunzel can only be found within the Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland, although it’s important to note that this is a separate queue than the aforementioned meet and greet for Cinderella!

This is a very busy and popular location to meet characters, so it’s important to arrive fairly early if meeting Rapunzel is on your “must do“ list before the end of your trip!

Just like with Cinderella’s interaction,  I would personally recommend arriving to the meet and greet at a minimum of 20 minutes prior to opening so that you can avoid as much of the afternoon lines as possible!

Belle

If you and your family are hoping to meet Belle on your Disney World vacation, you’ll want to head on over to Maurice’s Cottage in Fantasyland for the Enchanted Tales with Belle experience! Prior to early 2023, Belle was an incredibly rare meet and greet in the Magic Kingdom due to the temporary closure of Enchanted Tales, but we are happy to report that this experience is back in action for everyone to enjoy!

Enchanted Tales with Belle is more than a typical meet and greet, but rather it is a walk-through storytelling featuring the characters from Beauty and the Beast that has a meet and greet looped into the larger experience! It can get pretty busy so make sure you have a large amount of time to devote to walking through the attraction!

Snow White

Snow White is without a doubt one of the most reliable meet and greets in the entirety of the Magic Kingdom, and it’s safe to say that she is one of the sweetest princesses that you could possibly meet on your trip!

Snow White meets every single day from the late morning to early afternoon, right on the porch of Town Square Theater on the edge of Magic Kingdom’s entrance point! This meet and greet is not typically as busy as the rest on this list, so I would highly recommend it both if you’re a fan of Snow White and if you are looking for a fun way to pass the time!

Mickey Mouse

Mickey is the most classic meet and greet that you could possibly participate in at Walt Disney World, and I personally feel that this is one of the most beautiful areas for an interaction to be held! Mickey greets guests inside the Town Square Theater, which is located immediately inside the entrance of Magic Kingdom and it’s impossible to miss! The theater is absolutely gorgeous inside, and it truly feels like you are walking into the most beautiful character interaction you could ever have!

Until the ending of the 50th anniversary celebration within Walt Disney World, Mickey will be greeting guests in his anniversary regalia! Once the 50th anniversary celebration concludes, it is likely that Mickey will return to his original sorcerer’s outfit, although nothing has been confirmed by Disney as of the time this article was written!

Minnie Mouse

If you’re planning on meeting Mickey Mouse during your time in the Magic Kingdom, you should definitely plan on meeting Minnie Mouse as well! Minnie is such a friendly character and although she cannot speak, it’s definitely plainly obvious that she loves to meet guests and interact with everyone from the age of infancy to adulthood! Minnie typically meets guests at Pete’s Silly Side Show, located behind Storybook Circus!

Generally, you will find Minnie Mouse during the midday hours, but this is subject to change at any moment so keep a close eye on your MDE  app if this interaction is a must do for your Disney World vacation!

Donald Duck

It’s definitely safe to say that Donald Duck is not a difficult character to find within the parks! There are several locations in which you can meet Donald throughout Walt Disney World, but I’d have to say that the Magic Kingdom experience is my favorite! Donald can be found alongside Goofy at Pete’s Silly Side Show, located behind Storybook Circus!

Within this attraction, you’ll find Donald dressed in a unique outfit that cannot be found anywhere else in the park, and the atmosphere of the meet and greet is super fun and unique! Donald is not a face character, so he cannot speak with guests!

Goofy

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation, you certainly can’t meet Donald Duck without meeting Goofy too! Goofy can be found alongside Donald at Pete’s Silly Side Show, located behind Storybook Circus! Just like with Donald‘s meet and greet that we mentioned earlier, Goofy has his own special outfit and atmosphere for his interaction!

During the Halloween Party held inside the Magic Kingdom, it is also possible to meet goofy outside of his attraction, The Barnstormer, located in Storybook Circus! Goofy is one of my favorite characters to meet and I highly recommend these interactions!

Tigger

He’s one of the most lovable characters in the parks, and just about everyone loves him! Tigger is such a fun character to see in the Magic Kingdom, and I would highly recommend taking the time to make sure you interact with him on your next Walt Disney World trip! You can find both Winnie the Pooh and Tigger in a shared meet and greet next to Pooh’s attraction, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh!

The wait times for this interaction are nothing short of daunting and it’s very rare that you will find a wait time under 20 minutes, often times they are significantly longer! You will definitely want to check the MDE app and arrive shortly prior to the listed start time for the interactions!

Winnie the Pooh

This photo was taken by Michael for Countdown to Magic

Winnie the Pooh is one of the most lovable and friendly characters that you can meet in the Magic Kingdom, and I have fond memories of meeting him for the first time as a very young child in other parks! As terrified as I was during those first few times, his calm and goofy demeanor chased my fears away and is sure to make every child fall in love with him!

You can find both Winnie the Pooh and Tigger next to his attraction, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh although the wait times for this interaction are nothing short of daunting! It’s very rare that you will find a wait time under 20 minutes, and they can often soar to over an hour during the busy season! You will definitely want to check the MDE app and arrive shortly prior to the listed start time for the interactions!

Captain Jack Sparrow

Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the only roaming characters that we have on this list, and he is without a doubt one of my favorite character interactions across both of the United States parks! Captain Jack can be found hanging out near the Adventureland stage throughout the day, but he has been known to wander in a larger area on occasion!

Captain Jack doesn’t have a typical schedule, however going in the late morning and early afternoon would be your best bet to make sure that you meet this character!

Peter Pan

This photo was taken by Michael for Countdown to Magic

Peter is one of the most energetic characters that you can meet within the Magic Kingdom and he is truly a blast to interact with! Although he is one of the busiest character interactions and you will have a hard time finding a lion shorter than 30 minutes, I absolutely feel that the wait time is worth it and everyone should meet Peter Pan on their Disney World  trip!

Peter typically greets guests near his attraction, Peter Pan’s Flight in the early to mid afternoon, although there have been times where he has been found at other locations within the Magic Kingdom so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

Stitch

Stitch is a very difficult character to find in any of the United States Disney properties, and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is certainly no exception to this! Stitch also happens to be one of the most popular character interactions in the park, so when he does make an appearance for meet and greets is safe to assume that the lines will be incredibly long!

Your best bet to see Stitch is to spend some time near the Rocket Tower Plaza Stage located in Tomorrowland, although it’s important to note that he does not seem to make an appearance every day and his appearances often do not show in the MDE app! I would highly recommend to ask an entertainment cast member in the vicinity on the day of your trip to see what information they can provide you!

Magic Kingdom Characters in Parades

Perhaps meet and greets aren’t your thing, or maybe you just don’t have a particular interest in meeting characters up close and personal! Parades are a great way to see nearly all of these characters (and many more!) Throughout the park on a daily basis! It’s also not uncommon to see characters on balconies or in areas away from guests, but still close enough to be seen
